
“Shaheen” snatches a precious victory in the second Haqaeq round, setting the best time, while “Mazoon” wins third.
Excitement and enthusiasm were high on the second day of the Haqaeq category competitions in the second preliminary round of the Al Ain Camel Racing Festival. The festival, in its first edition, is being held at Al Rawdah Racecourse in Al Ain. The festival is organized by the Presidential Camel Affairs Center, under the supervision of the Emirates Camel Racing Federation.

The competitions were held over 15 rounds, covering a distance of 3 km, with significant participation from camel mounts from the UAE and GCC countries. Saeed Shafi Al Wahaibi’s “Waqada” took the title of the first round, completing the round in a time of 4:26:11 minutes. “Shaheen,” owned by Ali Sultan Mohammed Al Hashemi, excelled in the Haqaeq rounds, successfully asserting its strong presence and recording the best time ever in the second round, taking first place with a time of 4:21:30 minutes. “Mazoon,” owned by Mohammed Atiq Shams Al Ameri, secured its place in the third round with a time of 4:28:64 minutes. “Walwal,” owned by Hamid Harran bin Humaidan, won the fourth round, completing the round in 4:28:16 minutes. “Amjad,” owned by Khalaf Rashid Al Shamsi, won the fifth round with the second-best time of 4:25:08 minutes. “Samha,” owned by Mohammed Rashid Al Mansouri, won the sixth round, completing the round in 4:27:07 minutes.
In the seventh round, “Hizam”, owned by Hamad Qanazel Al Ameri, secured first place, outperforming his competitors and snatching the title with a time of 4:28:53 minutes. “Shaheeniya”, owned by Mohammed Rashid Al Mansouri, presented its owner, Mohammed Rashid Al Mansouri, with the second title after winning the eighth round with a time of 4:29:33 minutes.

“Amjad”, owned by Ghasn Saeed Al Musalmi, clinched the title of the ninth round with a time of 4:30:35 minutes. The tenth and eleventh rounds were won by the logo of Mohammed Khatem Al Shamsi, after “Nasnas” and “Al Dhaby” won.
The winning logos varied during the Al Haqaeq competitions in the second round of the festival, confirming the readiness of camel owners to participate in the heritage event. The twelfth through fifteenth rounds saw victories for the logos of Salim Salem Al Ghailani, Khaled Rashid Hamoud Al Darei, Matar Mubarak Al Wahaibi, and Ali Salem Al Shamsi.
The competition moves to a new stage tomorrow, Tuesday, with the Al Laqaya age group races being held over two days. The organizing committee has allocated 30 races for this age group, with 15 races taking place on the first day, and a similar number on the following day. The festival’s organizing committee has scheduled 165 races for the second preliminary round of the festival, which continues until August 10.
