Excitement and enthusiasm increased in the second preliminary round of the 2025 Al Ain Camel Racing Festival on its sixth day yesterday, Wednesday, in the 3 km Laqaya age group competition. The competition is being held at Al Rawdah Racecourse in Al Ain, organized by the Presidential Camel Affairs Center and supervised by the Emirates Camel Racing Federation.
“Farah,” owned by Bakhit Jaber Muslim Al Junaibi, opened the second day’s Laqaya age group rounds with the first victory, completing the round in 4:24:50 minutes. “Mujadir,” owned by Abdullah Saif Mubarak Al Khaili, recorded the best time in the second round of the competition, finishing first in 4:23:05 minutes.
“Abaad,” owned by Hamad Saif bin Naif Al Ameri, won the third round with a time of 4:24:50 minutes. 4:25:83 minutes, while “Al Shababi”, owned by Khalifa Mohammed Amer Al Amri, secured his place in the Jaadan Laqaya race with a time of 4:28:58 minutes.
“Nawiya”, owned by Salem Jaber Al Mansouri, finished first in the fifth race after crossing the finish line in 4:31:62 minutes. “Al Dhaby”, owned by Hamad Ra’i Al Shijah Al Ameri, snatched the sixth race with a time of 4:33:39 minutes. “Walam” presented its owner, Bader Mohammed Maktoum Al Junaibi, with the title of the seventh round, completing the distance in 4:30:17 minutes. “Al Shamkha”, owned by Salem Khalifa Al Darei, won the eighth round with a time of 4:34:18 minutes. In the ninth round, “Hadath”, owned by Amer Huwaireb Al Mansouri, claimed first place, recording a time of 4:32:67 minutes. The tenth round went to “Marmooq”, owned by Suhail Al Dahba Al Ameri, who completed the round in 4:30:83 minutes. The remaining 15 rounds concluded the Al Laqaya competition with victories for “Watan”, owned by Faraj Subaih Al Mukhaini, “Al Dhaby”, owned by Hamad Matar Halis Al Ketbi, “Mazal”, owned by Mohammed Rashid Asyan Al Mansouri, “Hodor”, owned by Hamad Suhail Al Ameri, and “Jazeel”, owned by Naif bin Ruwaya Al Khaili. The festival’s activities will resume tomorrow, Friday, with the broadcast age competitions, where the camels will run a distance of 4 km, across 25 rounds in the morning period, followed on Saturday by the Thanaya competitions, across 20 rounds. The second round of the festival will conclude next Sunday with the yearling and zamoul competitions.
