Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, awarded the Emirati Majid Al-Osaimi, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, the Order of Friendship in recognition of his efforts in developing the Paralympic movement across the vast Continent valuing the significant role UAE has played in supporting and empowering people of determination over the past ten years.
This came during the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s reception of Al-Osaimi at the Akorda Palace in the Kazakh capital, Astana, in the presence of a number of officials.
The meeting discussed the Asian Paralympic initiatives, the participation of Kazakhstani champions in these events, and the organization of several important events in accordance with the established approach, given the significant development witnessed by the Kazakh Paralympic movement. The President of Kazakhstan praised the important role of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Majid Al Usaimi’s outstanding contributions in leading the Paralympic movement in Asia, emphasizing that Kazakhstan is a genuine partner in development toward achieving the desired goal.
The President of Kazakhstan stated that the achievements of Kazakhstan’s athletes strengthen its position in Paralympic sports, helping to achieve the goals of the Asian Paralympics.
For his part, Al Usaimi presented the “Prestigious Medal” to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (may God protect him), His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (may God protect him), the Rulers of the Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
Al Usaimi expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for this high appreciation, his interest in the Asian Paralympics, and his support for initiatives and events in Kazakhstan. Al-Osaimi emphasized that this “high honor” consolidates and enhances the UAE’s pioneering and leading role in sustainable development projects and in supporting and empowering “people of determination” in Asia and internationally.
Al-Osaimi also commended the efforts of the Kazakhstan Paralympic Committee and the successful hosting of the Asian Paralympic Congress, one of the most prominent continental forums, expressing his happiness with the significant development witnessed by the Paralympic movement in Kazakhstan.
