At the conclusion of the third preliminary round of the Al Ain Camel Racing Festival, “Al Wariyah,” owned by Mohammed Matar Omeira Al Shamsi, soared to the top of the yearling category. The curtain fell on the third round of the festival, which lasted for 10 days with the wide participation of camel owners from the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The festival, which began last July, will conclude its activities next October with the final round.
On the final day of the third round, Al Rawdah Racecourse witnessed 10 rounds for the yearling and young camels, with fierce competition from the participating camels to qualify for the finals.
“Al Wariyah” won the first yearling category title with a time of 7:56:76 minutes, while “Al Faten,” owned by Sagheer Abdullah Al Ameri, won the second round. The second place went to Al-Zamoul with a time of 7:54:79 minutes.
“Halfa”, owned by Mubarak Khalifa Al Shamsi, recorded the best time in the third round of the yearling race with a time of 7:54:14 minutes, while “Shawaheen”, owned by Salem Mohammed Al Sharqi Al Afari, won the fourth round with a time of 7:57:01 minutes. The fifth round of the yearling race went to “Mutawaj”, owned by Saif Al Khazaa Al Ameri, with a time of 8:04:10 minutes.
“Fakhr”, owned by Muslim Al Ramli Al Ameri, won the sixth round with a time of 7:54:59 minutes, while “Al Nuwais”, owned by Khamis Mohammed Al Dhaheri, won the seventh round with a time of 8:02:08 minutes.
In the last three rounds, “Al Aber”, owned by Mansour Saif Al Khaili, won the eighth round with a time of 8:00:85 minutes, “Shuaa”, owned by Ahmed Salem Al Houta Al Ameri, won the ninth round of the yearling race with a time of 8:06:98 minutes, and “Al Lasifr”, owned by Salem Saeed Salim Al Darei, won the tenth round with a time of 8:04:10 minutes. 8:01:49 minutes.
It’s worth noting that the finals will be held next October at Al Rawdah Racecourse, where the qualified mounts will compete for the symbols allocated by the organizing committee to bring the curtain down on the first edition of the festival.
