The Zayed Grand Camel Racing Festival kicked off yesterday, Monday, in its new edition for 2025 at Al Wathba Racecourse in Abu Dhabi. H/E Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Advisor of His Highness the President of the UAE, officially launched the prestigious championship on its first day.

The competitions, dedicated to Al Haqayiq category for a distance of 4 km, witnessed a large gathering of camel racing enthusiasts and followers from the UAE and various GCC countries. “Al-Shamkha,” owned by Hamad Muslim Mut’eb Al-Amiri, won the Open Al-Abkar Cup after completing the race in 5:46:57. As for the second round, “Ghali,” owned by Suhail Obaid bin Yame’ Al-Sabousi, won the Open Al-Jadaan Rifle with a time of 5:45:5. In the third race for Al-Abkar Production, “Al-Tamas,” owned by Mohammed Khalifa Al-Amimi, claimed the cup and first place after crossing the finish line in 5:47:29. In the final race of the symbolic races and Al Haqayiq Al Jadaan Production Challenge, “Ablaj,” owned by Mohamed Hamad Saeed bin Mushait Al-Marri, won the saddle and first place with a time of 5:45:5 mins.

The remaining race results were as follows: IN fifth race, “Subha,” owned by Mubarak Hamad Ali Al-Jadili, won in a time of 5:46:49, and in the sixth race, “Muhtam,” owned by Mohammed Atiq, won. Al-Maqoudi Al-Falasi won the first heat with a time of 5:47:99, and the seventh heat was won by “Al-Ra’abiyah” owned by Suhail Hilal Hamid Al-Mahrami with a time of 5:53:37. In the eighth heat, “Al-Haylah” owned by Tarshoum Saleh Tarshoum Al-Amiri won with a time of 5:53:59. In the ninth heat, “Mujmal” owned by Obaid Ali Obaid Al-Sinnari won with a time of 5:48:74. The tenth heat was won by “Sayt” owned by Hamad Salem Mohammed Balhuwaimel Al-Amiri with a time of 5:53:63. The eleventh heat was won by “Hadath” owned by Salem Jaber Al-Jarbu’i Al-Marri with a time of 5:53:42. The twelfth heat was won by “Sa’ib” owned by Mubarak Mohammed bin Nasra Al-Amiri. In the thirteenth heat, “Hadhbah” owned by Salem Jaber Mohsen Al-Marri won with a time of 5:53:87. The fourteenth heat was won by “Al-Anoud” owned by Obaid Ahmed Bal-Akawi Al-Salmi with a time of In the 15th heat, “Shaheen” owned by Khalaf Rashid Al Nayli Al Shamsi won with a time of 5:50:43.

Following the conclusion of the competitions, Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, Director General of the Camel Racing Federation, awarded the winners with their trophies.
