After 8 days of exciting competitions , the Zayed Camel Racing Grand Prix concluded today Monday with the races of the Hawal and Zomoul categories at Al Wathba racecourse.

“Muzdalifa” claimed victory, securing the Golden Sword for owner Maneh Ali Hamad Al Shamsi in the Al Hawl Open category, the most prestigious and competitive race of the festival. This victory also earned Al Shamsi the prize money of AED 5 million, marking the second consecutive year that the Al Shamsi stable has won the prestigious sword. Muzdalifa shone brightly, clinching the most prestigious prize after covering the 6-kilometer course in 8.53.60 mins. , recording the best time of the day. Al-Tamas, also from Muzdalifa, finished second, earning its owner 2.5 million dirhams, while Al-Ain came in third, bringing its owner, Hafeez Saeed Al-Marri, a prize of 1.5 million dirhams.

The final day of the Zayed Grand Camel Racing Festival witnessed fierce competition among most of the camel stables vying for the top prizes and symbols in the morning and afternoon races for young camels (Hawl and Zamoul).

Al-Shamsi stable asserted its dominance on the day of the most prestigious prizes, winning the open Zamoul rifle and a cash prize of 1.5 million dirhams. Saqr soared to victory, crossing the finish line in 9 minutes, 1.27 seconds. Ghassab, owned by Mohammed Abdullah Saeed Ali, came in second, and Sayyaf, owned by Mohammed Jarallah Al-Marri, finished third. “Nathriya,” owned by Nasser Abdullah Al-Musnad of Qatar, won the local camel race for yearlings, earning its owner the silver sword and a cash prize of two million dirhams. It clinched the title in a time of 9:00:07 minutes.

The local camel race for male camels went to “Kafu,” owned by Mohammed Sultan Markhan Al-Ketbi, who won the race’s saddle and a cash prize of one million dirhams after finishing first in a time of 8:59:83 minutes.

His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE, presented the winners with their prizes after the competitions concluded, amidst a large gathering of camel owners and enthusiasts.
