Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, the second edition of the Al Ain International RC Aerobatics Competition will kick off on February 4 until 8 in Al Ain.
This championship is a unique sporting event in the field of aviation, combining scientific innovation, modern technologies, and the spirit of athletic competition, as it is specialized international platform where 92 professional athletes from 28 countries and more than 20 organizations will participate in the competition. The athletes will compete in aerobatic displays with remotely piloted miniature aircraft, providing an educational and entertaining experience that attracts more than 3,000 visitors.
The Competition includes several categories: Basic, Sport, Intermediate, Advanced, Unlimited, and Freestyle, allowing broad participation across various skills and experience levels, fostering competitiveness and the exchange of expertise among participants of all ages.
The five-day championship program includes a series of accompanying events, such as nighttime air shows and a competitive championship for UAE university students majoring in aeronautical engineering. The students will compete in designing, manufacturing, and flying drones, contributing to the advancement of aircraft design and aviation science, and showcasing the most skilled engineers and the best designs for future aircraft. The championship program also includes educational opportunities through 10 advanced and introductory workshops, all part of a comprehensive program that reflects Al Ain’s status as a premier sporting destination for hosting high-quality, specialized events.
The championship also provides participants with job opportunities in the field of remote-controlled aircraft, promotes aerial controlled aviation, and supports emerging talents and enthusiasts, thus reinforcing the role of specialized sporting events in fostering a culture of innovation and applied sciences related to the aviation sector.
